Life Lately

We have a non-stop summer. Wow. It has been nice for everything to settle around us and we are now able to get on a (slight) routine! Zane has had a very adventurous first few weeks and am glad he is such a good baby to have handled it all so well!!!
Chayse's cousin Baylee got married only a week after Zane was born and we made the trek up to Salt Lake to be there. Both kids were great and had a fabulous time playing with cousins. She went down this waterslide at Uncle Scott's house and couldn't get enough of it. I am so glad she loves the water! Especially when I wasn't able to get in and play with her. And how willing her aunts were to play with Lux and entertain her in the water. Zane was an angel and slept most of the time. Thankfully!

We blessed Zane on July 7 because my parents were both able to be out here. I was beyond lucky to have had my mom visit for a month and help out with the kids. She loved being able to see her third grandbaby so soon after he was born. My brother Andrew was also able to come out for the holiday weekend which I loved too! My mother-in-law was kind enough to watch Zane for 6 hours on the 6th so we could go up to Zion National Park and not worry about Zane and his Vitamin D intake.

Everyone who was able to come to the blessing! We are so lucky to have so much family nearby.

Then on Tuesday, July 9, we started our trek up to Spokane, Washington. What a long drive!! We first had to stop in Ogden for a few days so Chayse could make sure things were up and running for the new dental practice we opened up at the end of June. Ahhh...owning a business is non-stop fun! Both good and bad, obviously! We were able to check out the practice, I got my teeth cleaned, and see the area as well as visit with Uncle Scott and Aunt Tam for a few days. We are thankful they were so willing to host us!!

We first went to a family reunion (140 people!!!!!) at Coeur d'Alene lake where grandpa grew up and owned property there and Chayse always remembers vacationing at. It was nice to finally see this place everyone always talks about! It was beautiful! We were camping in cabins (without running water, just bunks) with a 3 week old and were wondering if we'd lost our minds. I think I did after the first night, but somehow we made it through! If Zane would have been a few months older it would have been a lot easier! But we are all alive!! We had a lot of fun with Chayse's cousins and siblings and he was able to baptize his grandfather in the lake to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Grandma has been waiting a long time for this and finally did it at 74 years old. Chayse was also able to confirm him a member and give him the gift of the Holy Ghost as well as ordain him to be a priest on Sunday. Zane was a mere month old on that day. It was a great weekend and we were so thankful to be a part of that new step in his grandpa's life.
Chayse and Lux heading to the boat to do some cruising.

Here is Zane with grandma Myers and great-grandma Andres at the house after the reunion.

Lux and I went tubing with her cousin Ruby and her mom, Julianna. We ended up putting too much weight up front and when the driver slowed for a second and then went forward again...we ended up in the water. Lux wasn't too happy about that and would only stick with Chayse for a while. About 2 hours later she finally forgot about it, but was extra worried when Chayse or I went into the water. I think she was afraid we'd get hurt. What a sweetie!

Great-grandpa Andres with Zane and Lux.

On the way back we visited with Great-grandpa and grandma Myers in Sandy.

Lux and daddy playing while I was at mutual on Tuesday night with the young women in our church. She told Chayse  "car too big" for her little race track. Hahaha. Love how her mind works!!
We also finally added her new bookshelves for her room. She looooves them. And it's nice to see everything she has. Apparently I'm a huge Sandra Boynton fan because she has about 8 of them. Oops. You can clearly see how happy this princess is!
