As I was going to bed last night, I looked at the weather. Rain? Here? After such a beautiful day? That made me look at Cedar's weather. Snow? Hmm...if it is still snowing in the morning maybe this is the day to take advantage of? And sure enough. Snow. 80% until 2pm. We went to the gym, then headed to target to get some snow pants. Then to another store to get some for mom. Back home to get ready for this adventure. Eat lunch, then pack lunch bags for the way back home. Make some hot chocolate to use during sledding. Find everyone's gear. Then head out!

We left about 12:30 and made it to the elementary school we went to last year by 2. It was still snowing on the way up and slowed us down. I also took a wrong turn and a 10 minute detour. Then headed back to main street and found the school I was looking for. It's perfect because it is about a 20 foot hill which is enough fun and thrills for the kids, but not too much work for them to climb up themselves. With needing to hold Pippa almost the whole time, there's no way I can handle carrying additional kids up multiple times for them to enjoy themselves. Hence, the perfect length. And by the time we got them in their snowpants, boots, gloves, hats and jackets...it was 2.
They had a fabulous time. Lots of snow, 8-10 inches, and plenty of rides down the hill. My favorite was when they decided to hook two sleds together so all three could go down at once. They loved that. The first ride was the best, the next two not so much and it was dismantled.
Another time Zane showed me how to jump on the sled to get it going and then he ends up hitting some jump at the bottom and lands perfectly. It was pretty amazing how everything lined up for him. He tried to recreate it, but there was no success in it. The memory will have to do.

Pippa wasn't to thrilled. I took her down a few times and she didn't like the spray that happened while being in the front of the sled. Having someone else in front, her in the middle and me in the back was the best option. She did alright. She had trouble standing in all her gear and was extremely cute and fluffy! There was another group of girls there and they had a dog. She loved seeing the dog jump around in the snow and would point and say "ruff ruff"! It was pretty adorable on my big, fluffy baby.

Zoey had the time of her life, and so did Lux. The girls enjoyed a lot of the time we spent sledding. They didn't like the lack of snowman built, but maybe next time. And I may have thrown a few too many snowballs that weren't enjoyed too much.
We pulled out the hot chocolate about 45 minutes into our adventure and used some marshmallow's we got from their cousins for Christmas inside them. And ate a lot too for "power food". Sugar rush food maybe would have been better? Regardless, it was fun. We added snow to their hot chocolate cups to cool it down and the kids loved seeing that. After another 20 minutes or so, everyone was tired and worn out for our adventure so we started taking the gear off and packing up the car. Then on the road again for the 50 minute trek back to St George.

As we were getting off the highway, we decided to get the kids some happy meals instead of making them food when we got home. It was a great decision. Baths and a movie, then it was time for bed. They were so exhausted from all the fun that no one came back downstairs after lights were turned off. I am so glad we decided to go sledding. Sure, it was a bit of a push to do, but it was well worth the time and energy spent. I was worried that another day like this wouldn't happen again. It would have been better had Chayse been able to join us, but we made it out alive. Glad mom was able to help out and have fun with us! And I don't know why I have no pictures of Lux. Sorry honey!! Next time!!
